Repointing, Cleaning and Sealing

Sandstone is extremely porous. This means its surface and make-up has a lot of holes within it, so it can easily absorb water, dirt and grime deep into the sandstone hence  over time it can change colour, grow mould or lose its sheen.

We use a high water pressure unit and chlorine mix to return the stone to its former glory, or close to it.

It is recommended to apply a good quality sealer to the sandstone, however sealers are not ‘magic silver bullets’ that will protect your sandstone from all harm.

If you wish to apply sealer to your sandstone, we will clean the stone first and then apply two coats.
